Atlanta is buzzing with film industry projects lately and the artists of A.R.C. have been part of that activity. Special effects resident artist Andre Freitas of AFX Studios has worked on sets of "Big Momma's House 3" and "Footloose", two feature films recently filmed in Atlanta. He is also currently working on "Vampire Diaries" and "Teen Wolf", two network series, filmed around Atlanta. Local producers, Brothers Young Productions editing facility and a green-screen is housed at A. R. C., which is also rented by other local Film production companies, along with Youngs sets for "Fantastic World". They are producing a new set for the pilot of "Galactic Perry's Learning Starship" and have commissioned resident designer Rip Potterto design and build the helm of the wacky starship for this production. In the building of that set, Rip has employed the talents of many of the artists of A.R.C.
A.R.C. has become a hub for local film talent. Also located in the center is Blank Stage, another film production company. Brent Brooks, Blank Stages director, has spearheaded Blank Page, a bi-monthly critique and networking session for local screenwriters, and Film Atlanta Meet-Up, a monthly meeting of local film industry start-ups. Brent also teaches "The Ten Commandments of Improv", in his Monday night improv dojo meetings. Blank Stage Productions is currently working on several short film projects that will be screened at the upcoming open house.
